General Sheridan Dunbar according to Horticulture, XXVII. 534 (1918), “Semidouble, white, erect clusters.” – Dunbar in Florists Exch., September 22, 1923, 381, fig., “Produces freely numerous large clusters of pure white flowers. The individual blossoms are not large as in some double flowering white Lilacs but the clusters stand out boldly”; Litt, ined. October 3, 1923, “Flowers semi-double, not large but are occasionally super-imposed on each other somewhat like a hose-in-hose, white, primrose clusters good size. Branching habit inclined to be thin.” Produced by John Dunbar of the Dept. of Parks, Rochester, N. Y. In a letter the late Mr. Dunbar informed me that this was a seedling (no. 274 Dunbar) of Princess Alexandra named by him in 1917.
