Named for the wife of Comte Eugene Antoine Horace de Choiseul-Praslin, French statesman and noted amateur horticulturist.
Cultivar name presumed registered 1953; name established and accepted.

Comtesse Horace de Choiseul Lemoine, Cat. no. 119, X. (1891), “Plante identique pour son port, la forme de ses fleurs et la grandeur de ses thyrses, à la belle variété Pyramidal dont elle provient; mais la couleur est d’un blanc porcelaine grisâtre avec des reflets rosés, et les boutons sont de nuance chair; magnifique variété.” — Nicolas in Jardin, 1x. 80 (1895). – Möller’s Deutsch. Introduced in 1891 by the firm of V. Lemoine et fils, Nancy, France, and one of their productions.
Notes on plant in Dept. of Parks, Rochester, N. Y. (received from Dickson in 1892). Flowers double, medium to small in size; corolla-lobes pointed, opening into a star-shaped flower; tone pale; color in bud Dark Olive-Buff to Olive-Buff (XL.) with a tinge of Laelia Pink (XXXVIII.); when expanded white tinged with Light Pinkish Lilac (XXXVII.) without, same turning to white within. Clusters long, widely branched, well-filled, rather feathery in appearance.

Бутоны беловато-лиловые; цветки слаболиловые, выгорающие до серовато-белых, махровые, очень душистые; лепестки остроконечные. Соцветия из одной-двух пар прочных, но рыхлых метелок. Кусты средней высоты, раскидистые. Цветет в ранние сроки, продолжительно.
